At the summit of the Jabal Shams, the highest peak in Oman at over 12,000 feet the air is much cooler than the wadi below through the year and the mercury drops down to sub-zero during the winter. This place is also very popular for trekking and for the Great Canyon- a big gorge.

Al Hoota Cave is a well-decorated cave with beautiful stalagmite and stalactite formation and large caverns. The visitors can explore the cave and watch the calcium sedimentations formed millions of years ago.
